KIM AUSBURY

Kim has also had the joy of attracting potential homebuyers who can envision themselves living in one of the homes Staged by Kim. Before becoming an
Accredited Stager™ (ASP) in 2004, Kim and her husband moved every two and a half years. Kim took it upon herself to get each of their homes “ready to sell”. Every home sold within a few days of putting it on the market! As one of the first ASPs™ (Accredited Staging Professionals) in the State of Ohio and subsequently, in Northeast Ohio, Kim’s experience and knowledge far surpass any other stager in this region. Kim’s work has been seen on prestigious home tours, featured on the cover of the Kids’ Directory, and is also showcased in the “The Idiot’s Guide To Staging Your Home”. Kim has been interviewed on the topic of staging in the
Akron Beacon Journal and Hudson Life Magazine. You can also catch Kim on Cleveland’s Fox 8 and WKYC Channel 3, sharing her vast wealth of knowledge with television viewers.

Kim believes staying abreast of the latest ideas and market trends in home staging, redesign and decorating is essential to her clients and to her business. For this reason, Kim chooses to take continuing education courses. She also visits the Chicago Mart and the Atlanta Mart and “To The Trade Only” events.

Kim is one of the first 18 Certified Dewey Color Consultants in the world. As a DCCC, Kim understands that color is powerful and impacts each of us differently. Along with her DCCC designation, Kim is also an ODCCC (Certified Color Consultant). Kim has been trained by renowned faux finisher, Cyndie Stefanik. Ms. Stefanik’s work has been featured in numerous magazines, including Architectural Digest. Kim also completed the Color With no Regrets certification. Kim has been privileged to share her color knowledge with Sherwin Williams clients, as well as conducting color seminars for Ace Hardware. With her extensive color training, Kim can create successful color palettes that are individualized and fabulous!

In 2005, Kim had the honor of being a design consultant for the Henn Leadership convention (Henn By Design).

In addition to her color training and consulting work, Kim has received training from HGTV designer and industry leader, JoAnne Lenart-Weary. The designation of IDP (Interior Decorating Professional) was awarded to Kim in April, 2006.

Pulte Homes selected Staged & Styled to be their premier staging company in 2007. Staged & Styled was responsible for staging for a quick sale each new Pulte homeowner’s existing property so they could move into their new Pulte home once their place was sold.

In 2007, Cleveland’s Fox 8 - That’s Life with Robin Swoboda program surprised one lucky viewer with a room makeover and Kim was the redesigner the show selected to pull off the room transformation.

In 2008, Staged & Styled was selected to “set the stage” (literally) for Maya Angelou during her visit to Cleveland. “It was truly an honor to be selected and to meet Ms. Angelou! An experience I won’t forget!”, says Kim.

Staged & Styled was thrilled to be selected by Schumacher Homes as their premier staging company in 2008!

In addition to her local accolades, Kim was selected to present on the fundamentals of running a design business (Paperwork, Pricing, Partnering and Profits) at the national annual education conference of The Society of Decorating Professionals in Phoenix, Arizona in 2008.

In 2009, The ASID (American Society of Interior Designers) chapter of Cuyahoga Community College invited Kim to speak on Redesign. “This was such a great experience! It was so nice of them to invite me to address their talented group of graduating designers”, commented Kim.

Can You Relate with Kathy Dawson on WKYC Channel 3 invited Kim to be a guest on her show in January, 2011. Kim shared with viewers how they could spruce up their homes without spending a lot of money.

Kim also understands the value of membership to professional organizations such as the (IDS) Interior Design Society, Staged Homes, (SDP) Society of Decorating Professionals, and (DSA) The Decorating and Staging Academy.

Kim has had the privilege of helping homeowners and business owners discover the untapped potential of their spaces. However, she says that true joy comes when she is able to “donate” her talents to causes that grab her heart.

The Barnabas House was one of those endeavors. Kim, along with a fellow designer, decorated the Barnabas House for missionary families who are home on furlough from their global service.

The teacher’s lounge at Chapel Hill Christian School also received a makeover courtesy of the Hope Committee and the decorating talents of Kim. Kim also gives freely of her time and talents to school fundraisers, women’s events and trade shows.
